gPanel Reports Overview

It's critical to be able to analyze your company’s data, and the gPanel Reports module makes this easy. gPanel gives you as granular a view as possible, so you'll have the most powerful insights into your Google Workspace domain.

While the Google Admin Console’s reports section is a helpful place to view canned reports, gPanel’s reporting is all about being customizable. That’s why with the gPanel Reports module, you have the power to be as granular and robust as you desire. Let's say you're looking for documents shared externally to your domain. Using the gPanel Reports module, you can create a report for documents shared externally. You can set columns for the document owner, share’s email address, and so on to help you pinpoint the source of documents and those who shared it. Sounds pretty good right?

Reports

First up in the gPanel Reports module is Reports. Here you’ll see a list of reports that have been created in gPanel. These can be sorted by the report name, creation date, last ran date, a brief description from the user that created the report, and the report type. When you hover over a report, you'll find management options. These include the ability to run the selected report, edit any of it’s settings and information, and view more details.

Creating a report

When you create a report, there are several different configurations that you can manage. The configurations vary based on the report type. After setting a report name, type, and description, you can toggle either a manual run or set a schedule for the report. If you choose to schedule a report, you can control precisely when the report runs. For example, you can have it run every Friday at 8 AM or on the first of every month. Additionally, you have the option to include users that you would like to notify of the report’s completion via email. After setting your columns of data, select a source such as a specific user, group, organizational unit, role, or domain you’d like the report to run on.

Here’s a pro tip! All the reports in gPanel are customizable which prevents you from being overwhelmed with too much extraneous data. This means you can entirely customize the data for your report. Want a list of everyone in the company’s phone number but don’t need to see all their other profile data? You can select just the user’s name and their phone number to be represented in the report.

Next, you’ll will be met with the review page. This will give you a run down of all the settings you’ve just applied to your new report, and also the ability to run the report immediately after saving. If you choose to run after saving, your new report will start populating immediately and you’ll receive a pop-up window linking you to the report spreadsheet. However, if this report is for future use, you will find the report in the list view and you can manually run the report by clicking "Run Now."

cPanel Logs

Next in the gPanel Reports module is cPanel Logs. This is where you can view, filter, and export logs regarding actions taken by users in cPanel.

The gPanel Reports module is the most efficient, intuitive, and secure way to stay up to date on any and all information in and outside of your company.
