Google Workspace Transition Information

Google recently announced the launch of Google Workspace, the new and improved G Suite. Google Workspace includes all of the productivity apps you know and love—Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet, and many more.  

With the introduction of Google Workspace, editions and features have been reshaped to provide greater flexibility. This means all current G Suite customers will be transitioned to a new Google Workspace edition. 

Please read below to see what Google Workspace edition you will be transitioning to based on your current G Suite subscription. If you are currently on a contract, Google will honor your contract until your renewal date.

 

G Suite Enterprise Flex

All G Suite Enterprise customers on a flexible billing plan have already been transitioned to the Google Workspace Enterprise plus edition.

Currently you are paying $25 per user per month. On January 15, 2021 your price will increase to $30 per user per month.

Your current G Suite Enterprise features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention & S/MIME encryption
  • 250 participant video meetings with recording, attendance tracking, noise cancellation, and in-domain live streaming
  • Unlimited Drive storage
  • Advanced security, management, and compliance controls including Vault and DLP
  • 24/7 support by phone, email, and online

Your new Google Workspace Enterprise Plus features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention & S/MIME encryption
  • 250 participant video meetings with recording, attendance tracking, noise cancellation, and in-domain live streaming
  • 5TB of Drive storage x number of users, pooled for the entire domain
  • Advanced security, management, and compliance controls including Vault, DLP, data regions, and enterprise endpoint management
  • Enhanced support


G Suite Enterprise Annual

All G Suite Enterprise customers have already been transitioned to the Google Workspace Enterprise plus edition.

Effective January 15, 2021, the list price for Google Workspace Enterprise Plus is increasing from $25 to $30. Upon your renewal date, the list price will increase to $30 per user per month.

If you are a Promevo customer, our renewals team will reach out 60-90 days prior to your support end date to discuss your next term’s pricing.

G Suite Business Annual (300+ Users)

Upon your renewal date, you will be transitioned to Google Workspace Enterprise Standard edition which is $20 per user per month. Our renewals team will reach out 60-90 days prior to your support end date to discuss your next term’s pricing. 

You will be transitioned to Enterprise Standard because the Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus plans can only be purchased for a maximum of 300 users.

Your current G Suite Business features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention
  • 150 participant video meetings
  • Unlimited Drive storage
  • Advanced security, management, and compliance controls including Vault
  • 24/7 support by phone, email, and online

Your new Google Workspace Enterprise Standard features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention & S/MIME encryption
  • 250 participant video meetings with recording, attendance tracking, noise cancellation, and in-domain live streaming
  • 5TB of Drive storage x number of users, pooled for the entire domain
  • Advanced security, management, and compliance controls including Vault, DLP, data regions, and enterprise endpoint management
  • Enhanced support


G Suite Business Annual (Less Than 300 Users)

Upon your renewal date, you will be transitioned to Google Workspace Business Standard edition which is $12 per user per month. Our renewals team will reach out 60-90 days prior to your support end date to discuss your next term’s pricing. If you have an interest in different SKUs we would be happy to discuss that with you. 

Please note any customer that has over 300 users has to be on an Enterprise SKU because the Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus plans can only be purchased for a maximum of 300 users.

Your current G Suite Business features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention
  • 150 participant video meetings
  • Unlimited Drive storage
  • Advanced security, management, and compliance controls including Vault
  • 24/7 support by phone, email, and online

Your new Google Workspace Business Standard features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure email
  • 150 participants video meetings and recording
  • 2 TB of cloud storage per user
  • Security and management controls
  • 24/7 support by phone, email, and online

The features you will be losing:

  • Vault is not available on Business Standard. You have to upgrade to Business Plus to keep Vault. 
  • Unlimited Storage is not available. On the Business Standard edition, you will get 2 TB of storage per user.

G Suite Basic Annual (300+ Users)

Upon your renewal date, you will be transitioned to Google Workspace Enterprise Standard edition which is $20 per user per month. Our renewals team will reach out 60-90 days prior to your support end date to discuss your next term’s pricing.

You are being transitioned to Enterprise Standard because the Business Starter, Business Standard, and Business Plus plans can only be purchased for a maximum of 300 users.

Your current G Suite Basic features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email
  • 100 participant video meetings
  • 30 GB of Drive storage per user
  • Security and management controls
  • Standard support

Your new Google Workspace Enterprise Standard features (This list is not inclusive):

  • Custom and secure business email with eDiscovery retention & S/MIME encryption
  • 250 participant video meetings with recording, attendance tracking, noise cancellation, and in-domain live streaming
  • 5TB of Drive storage x number of users, pooled for the entire domain

  • Enhanced support

G Suite Basic & Business Flex

At this point, Google has not released an official transition plan for G Suite Basic and Business flex customers.

Once we have official word from Google, we will update this post and send out a notice to our customers.
