Hey everybody. It's me, Brandon, the marketing director at Promevo, joined here by Jeremy. Originally you had hoped to hear from us on Tuesday May 27th, but obviously both of us came down sick. I dunno how you come down with the flu in the middle of 80 degrees spring weather, but lo and behold. We didn't wanna just abandon this part of the Gemini adoption webinar series.
So we are recording this and making it available to all of you on demand. Just as a reminder, we have all of these sessions available and they're all recorded and posted on our Gemini adoption webinar series hq. Everyone that registered for this will receive a link in their inbox with links to each of these as well.
Usually if this were a live webinar, this is where I would prompt you to submit your questions, but obviously we're watching this in the future. Reach out to us. Any email that you get from Promevo you can reply to and it comes directly into my inbox and I will see it and make sure that you get your questions answered.
But as a reminder, this is a four part series plus two on demand videos, one of which Jeremy did that is meant to help you get the most out of the Gemini AI tools that are now a part of pretty much every Google Workspace subscription. It's not just generate an email for me; it is help me learn. It is, help me refine this thing, help me take these 10 PDFs and condense them down into a 15 minute podcast that tells me all the information that I need to know.
These are videos that are for you as an admin, but you can also take them and share them with your users and help them understand as well. Today we are going to get into the Gemini app and Gems. Your presenter today is Jeremy Sanders. He is one of our customer engineers.
A lot of you have had interactions with Jeremy. Over the past few months as part of our workshops or as part of our regular product enablement, he's gonna walk you through everything today.
Take it away, Jeremy.
Awesome. Thanks Brandon. I appreciate it. Thank you for the intro. Hello everyone. As Brandon said, Jeremy Sanders here, customer engineer here at promevo. I've ran a lot of these Gemini workshops that we offer here at Promevo, so I'm very excited to also do this in webinar format and have it recorded.
Generative AI is for every organization. It's not for big, little, small, it's for everyone. So just remember that as we go through this and think of use cases that I'm going through here . For the agenda today, we're gonna just be talking about the era of AI powered work.
We'll show off Gemini Advanced, and then we'll also do some use case training on, Hey, what can Gemini Advanced do for your team? The era of AI powered work. So we are just at the beginning, Google has been doing AI for quite some time now. They've been a leader in this space for some time.
However, now within the last couple years, we see that it's come to the mainstream more and we're always hearing about it. Now that Gemini is included within your Google workspace. Licenses as well as gemini.google.com, which we'll be covering today. This means that we're just getting into the start of it.
We're starting to see all the transformative work that we're gonna start seeing with Gemini. let's go ahead and introduce Gemini Advanced. I would highly advise you if you haven't already, go to gemini.google.com. Go ahead and bookmark that link and begin using it and following along here throughout this webinar with it.
It's your organization-wide AI assistant. That's what gemini.google.com is. Think of a chat app or chat AI app that you can have a conversation with. This is gonna have multiple different models with it, as well as the abilities between those models are gonna be able to do different things.
For example, image generation, researching, brainstorming analysis, those are all different models within Gemini Advance. As we think about how Gemini Advance is gonna elevate our work, we have to remember that it's gonna help us make data-driven decisions. It's gonna help us research and be iterative. And ideate on different topics that we may need to think outside the box on. It's also able to handle very complex things like research code writing and debugging.
Modern work calls for advanced AI features, so there's gonna be a ton of model advancements that we're gonna be seeing just within the last six months. We've seen a lot of advancement on this with, 2.5 coming out. And then the ability to double search, double check with Google search.
Grounding your results that you get outta Gemini, using Google search is very nice to have. Being able to find those sources and being able to determine, hey, this is exactly where this information is coming from. It's grounded on that. You're able to do the complex reasoning. We'll be going through some of that today.
Customization with gems. Gems are very nice to have. Whenever we think of prompt engineering, you know the four things that are prompt. What's nice about that is we can cut out a lot of that work and put it into a gem and then just fire tasks off at a gem and be able to even get answers quicker through Gemini. We also do file uploads and data analysis. Think of PDFs, think of spreadsheets, and then extensibility. So it's gonna be able to go out and grab information from like your Google calendar and things like that. Customizing Gemini. A couple things here is creating custom AI experts.
This is what we're talking about with gems here. Being able to do things like having a, just a gem that checks your grammar for you. Hey, it gives you a cool persona of hey, helps you think creative about how you're gonna write an email or how you wanna pitch something. Those are all things that Gemini is able to do and really important as we think about gems.
You'll see that there are a couple pre-made Gs here, and if you'll see the videos on the screen, one thing that I like to do is you'll also see in that left hand screen, you'll see that or left hand video, you'll see there's also a little copy button in the top right of each one of those pre-made Gs.
If you press that, make a copy, what it'll do is it will create a full copy of a gem. Then it will be able to customize it like it shows in the second video then. Basically Google gives you all the format. You just need to change it around to exactly what you want it to do.
Or what you can do is you can create your own gem. You can give it some context, some formatting or persona, things like that. And you can also press the little Gemini pencil down there at the bottom right of that. And it's what's gonna be able to do is give you it's gonna be able to make those instructions a lot more readable for Gemini.
File uploads and data analysis. Uploading Google Docs, PDFs, and tons of other document types within Gemini and getting insight into that specific information. So you'll see here in the video it's showing us some CO2 emissions here and then creating us a chart. It's giving us all types of information.
With Gemini Advanced, it's also able to write and run Python code in the background to analyze your files. This is gonna let you work more efficiently throughout your data and then able to explore that data, analyze it, visualize it to save time, instead of having to go through, slowly make your own little graph and things like that.
Instead, Gemini's gonna do it. 4:00 AM in very in record time. Workplace extensions. This is one that. Personally, I use a lot here within Gemini. Being able to do things within my Gmail and my drive, being able to say, Hey, find these emails from so and so during this day. That's something they can do.
Going to Google Drive and saying, Hey, I'm trying to find this file. Where's that? It's able to go out and grab that information. You can see here in the example that it we went out and asked, Hey, we need to know how many invoices have came in from Acme. Since May, 2022 tells us, Hey, there's 12 invoices and what ra, what the range is, it's giving us a bunch of different information.
That's something that's really powerful within Google Extension, or excuse me, Google workspace extensions that you'll be able to use in Gemini. And then the double check is also very important. So let's say, hey, we're having a really good conversation with Gemini.
I'm trying to ideate on something. I'm trying to research on something. Hey, where did you find this information at? It doesn't obviously tell you within gemini i google.com, down at the bottom there where you can see the little Google icon. If you click on that and then press, search, double check with Google search, what'll do is it'll go out and we'll try to cite all that information using Google search, which really helps you have confidence that what Google came up what, excuse me.
What Gemini came up with is correct. It's accurate, it's grounded on something. It's not a hallucination.
One thing that's also very important with Gemini and if you watch my data security and privacy webinar is that data safety is the absolute priority for Google. Anything that you do within gemini.google.com is not going to be used to train the model. It's not gonna see human review or anything like that, so you can be safely assured any information you put in there is going to say safely within your organization.
Let's go through some use cases. What can Gemini Advance do for your team? Let's just start out with a basic question. Why do, why choose Gemini Advance for your organization? It's gonna boost productivity, creativity, and ideation. You're gonna get a higher work quality and decision making through using Gemini Advance.
And then you're also gonna be able to learn and absorb complex concepts and being able to scale customized content creation very easily. With Gemini Advanced. Let's start with marketing teams. What you're gonna be able to do is research your audience and market. Hey, what are the new newest market trends?
Hey, what are my audience's? Demographics? Hey, what are they interested in? What's working for other people? Things like that. Being able to ask Gemini and ideate off of that for marketing teams is very important. These are normally things that we'd have to go to Google search for or something along those lines, and then press control F and look through a file.
Instead, what we're able to do is get an easily digestible readout from Gemini advanced. Another thing that we can do too, is we can craft and stress test content. We're able to create personalized and high quality content very quickly. That being said, what you're able to do is put in a prompt, get some content ideas out of it, have it extrapolate on those and go even further.
This is gonna help improve your engagement and performance on a lot of these things. When it comes to marketing. Of course boosting creative ideation, going out, thinking of, Hey, what are some unconventional ways of looking at how I want to market to any demographic? Going out and getting that information, that's not an easy question that most of us can answer Off the top of our head normally requires a lot of research.
Let's use Gemini Advance to help us with that. So here's an example of a marketing prompt. So I'm a brand manager at Symbol Media working to launch a new campaign focused on a new TV show about professional race car drivers. Identify potential influencers, brands that Symbol Media could partner with to amplify the campaign on social media Channels.
Goal is to reach a wide audience of Motorsports fans across different demographics and geographies while building credibility and driving engagement. That's just one, one example there, and then it goes, and you can see it's going through and analyzing and coming up with that information. It's getting a target audience
it's then it's going on and giving us potential influencers that we could have go along with this new program and campaign that we're doing for a TV show about professional race code drivers. Another example using a marketing specialist idea is focusing on paid media. So we need to conduct an in-depth audience research so that I can develop convincing marketing ads for Gen Z gamers.
Start help gen to help start helping generate a comprehensive profile of Gen Z gamers, code core demographics, ies, physio, graphics, online platforms. They frequent and suggest language and messaging that resonates with that. So there you go. You can see the Gemini's given us a good output so far on that.
And along those lines, you're gonna get really good results whenever you prompt it correctly within Gemini advance. For sales teams. Some use cases here. Helping us find clients, understanding a client. So you have, a warm client that comes in. We don't know anything about them.
We know very little, Hey, they came into us. We need to get up to speed very quickly on this client. We wanna be able to meet with 'em as soon as possible and have a really deep understanding and not just a service level understanding of what their organization does. Gemini is great at this, being able to go through, get information about that, conducting that market research.
To understand, what are the emerging trends in new territories and uncovering opportunities and looking for threats. It's also important. And then helping develop enhanced sales strategies and offers. Those are all things that Gemini is very good at, and it's something we see within our gemini workshops here at promevo, we see a lot of success with this. And then helping optimize sales strategies, evaluating and refining a sales pitch. Hey, we're pitching to a certain company that's in maybe a territory or in a market that we're not a hundred percent sure about. How should we word that?
How should we pitch it? What are their concerns? They might not be telling us, asking me, Gemini, advance, something like that. It's gonna give you really good results that are gonna help you anticipate and overcome any objections that you may have within the sales your sales pitch and strategy, and then it's gonna just help drive sales success and close deals.
Think about that for your sales teams. An example of this prop would be, I'm an account executive in charge of a new customer account called symbol accounting. I need to do initial research. What are some main products in their portfolio in the largest markets they operate? Just going back what I said a few minutes ago, going and, hey, we have this new company out here.
We're trying to bring in some initial research on that. You can see here what it's done here is it's went and, or Gemini advances went and found a lot of that information for us. They've given us a really good idea of what this particular company does. Here's another example, your sales executive and that we'll be having sales meetings about special price offerings.
With the leadership team at Simple Beverage, summarize the attached earnings call transcript, and tell me about the company. What are some of the challenges and opportunities they have and what are they looking to achieve? In the upcoming quarter. Here's an example of, hey, we're gonna also attach a file alongside a prompt and we're gonna ask you questions here.
And you can see here it's giving us the key takeaways from the Q3 earnings call. We can see here, could pull all this information down and if we use that Google search or double check with Google search, I guarantee you that it's gonna go out and find that information as well to verify it for HR teams.
HR teams, simplifying the hiring process. Hiring process can be difficult. It can be complex, it can be complicated. And it can be very time consuming. Think of, training drafts for job descriptions. Getting that first initial draft of a job description can be very difficult.
Being able to ask 'em, Hey, create me a job description for this role. Hey, that's a really good starting point. You don't have to start from square one. Instead, you get 90% of the way there and you have to fill in the next 10%. Getting suggestions for interview questions. This is also good for those of us who are maybe unsure of what to ask someone in an interview or, Hey, you want to change up the flow.
Maybe you think your interview questions aren't tailored that well for the job. Hey, let's go ahead and put that job description in. Ask, Hey, what should we be asking people about in an interview and then helping. And then that's gonna help spend more time sourcing and scheduling a candidate. So creating onboarding content, so customized onboarding materials.
This is something that we do here at Promevo with this information with, and a lot of, again, with a lot of our Gemini workshops, we can create onboarding material for our workshops. So think about that. Just transfer that thinking into hr and then generating roles specific welcome packets. Again, this is all things that we can deal with in Gemini Advance.
And then what this does is again, save us time. Preparing for actual onboarding interactions instead of having to worry about, Hey, is this, specific enough? Is this customized enough? Does, is our new hire gonna feel like that they're special to our team? And it's also gonna help us create training and development materials.
So creating tailored training and skills assessment programs and catering unique requirements of different departments, seniority levels, and locations. So when we think about examples of this, so as a recruiting expert ed, a set of role related knowledge interview questions for a marketing manager position question.
So the question should a, assess the candidate's experience with campaign development, team leadership, budget management, and data-driven decision making. And here we go. You can see that we're getting those questions out from Gemini. Hey, those are gonna help us in the interview process.
Another example here is a professional training and development expert. Develop a training module on decision making techniques for managers. The module should cover topics such as identifying the problem, gathering information, evaluating options, making a choice, and implementing decisions. It should also address common cognitive biases that are, that can hinder effective decision making.
You can see here it's create a training module for this particular topic and something that we could probably just go over, read through, change anything we need to do, customize it to our company, and then send it out as a training module.
Finance teams, so let's think about some use cases for Finance teams. Understanding concepts and analyzing data. Being able to put, like we said before, spreadsheet, getting some information about that, analyzing that data, and then getting key points in financial reports. Putting something in Gemini, uploading financial reports, getting those key takeaways, and then understanding complex models quickly.
Maybe we aren't completely up to speed on exactly the model that, the report is using, Hey, using Gemini to level us up quicker in our knowledge is gonna be very helpful. And then of course, creating new models and increasing efficiency within your existing models is Al also something Gemini Advance can do, and grabbing code snippets and also generating formulas.
Gemini Advance is also very good with, and then being able to assess the work that you've done and then get that feedback. Having someone double check, your formulas, your code snippets, things along those lines. Thinking about some prompting examples.
As a professional trader, help me develop a trading strategy for high frequency trading of S&P 500 futures. Assist me in designing a mean. Reversion strategy, exploring optimal parameters of entry and exit signals, stop loss levels in position sizing. We can see here, we've given it this prompt.
Gemini has gone out. It's understanding the challenge and then giving the key considerations for what that strategy is. Here's an example as well as a spreadsheet expert, help me write an app script to identify clusters in a monthly sales dataset to help me find groups of stores that behave similarly.
In terms of average monthly sales and average ticket size. It's gonna create an app script. If you're not familiar with app script one thing that Gemini Advance is very good at and something I've used quite a bit is having it create app script for me. And what that's gonna be able to do is help me get this data and have it a lot easier than just having to use filters or something along those lines within a spreadsheet.
What it's gonna be able to do is give me an app sheet that is going to go and gimme data in a nice, neat format. For software development teams. One thing that Gemini Advance can do is it can generate code. It can write code in a range of languages. It can also improve your code quality. Think of it as like a coding assistant where you give it, you upload your code to it, say, Hey, find where you can make where I can make improvements on this.
And then it's gonna also help identify possible bugs or performance issues. Those are all really important as we test code and then also creating mock data to test code or applications. That's something that we do here at Promevo all the time. We ask it to create, Hey, I need, 200 fake users for this, demo project that we're doing, or something along those lines.
It does a very good job of that. An example of that would be, I'd like to implement a recommendation engine for an e-commerce website using collaborative filtering. Can you help me with the algorithm and code implementation of Python? Here you can see that it's went through here and it's giving me do js file.
It's giving me a JavaScript. It's installing the dependencies and things like that as well. And then setting everything for me to have an example or something I can work off of for recommendation engine. Another example is I want to build a realtime chat application with web, so is using node js and react.
Can you guide me through the server side and client side code setup and how to handle message broadcasting and persistence. See here, again, understanding the components. So it's breaking down each one of those components, almost like AIST or a glossary. And then what it'll do is it'll help me with that server side set up.
Then in the next section,
and with that being said, I'm gonna go ahead and pass it back to Brandon Carter,
Jeremy, thank you so much for that. There's a ton of stuff that you can do in here. Jeremy went through a bunch of different departments and how they can use these tools from a marketing perspective, just one way that we use it is we all set up Gems that are built around our products, and we use those Gems to make sure that we understand.
gPanel and Promevo services and all the different things that we do before we go out and create content. We'll share this deck with everybody, but all of these links will be on the Gemini Adoption Series HQ page.
Besides watching this webinar. You can go through every one of those links. So ton of information. We condensed it down into less than 25 minutes. As always, any questions that you have about any of this content, reach out to Promevo, reach out to me.
Any email that you get from Promevo, they usually come from updates@promevo.com. You can reply to that anytime and those go directly into my inbox. Any questions that you have, I'll make sure they get answered and I'll make sure that you get a response. With that, we are going to call this a wrap.
Thanks to all of you out there watching. Jeremy. Really appreciate the deep dive on the Gemini app and hope everyone has a great week. Bye now.
