The Advantages of Using ChromeOS for Contact Centers

What makes an operating system great? This might not be the question that keeps everyone else up at night but at Promevo, we’re kind of obsessed with making things make sense at work. To our experts, the core of your company’s tech stack begins with the operating system, and family of devices, you’ll choose to equip your workforce with.
ChromeOS is a powerful, cost-effective solution that empowers companies of all sizes to do their best work. We can help you get the most out of your Google devices and ChromeOS. Today, we’ve rounded up three major trends we’ll be watching this year when it comes to ChromeOS.
Come along as we explore changes to ChromeOS’ hardware integrations, enhancements to Google Meet, and the environmental considerations that Google is making this year.
The Chromebook Plus stands at the forefront of hardware options for your workforce.
While other laptop computers might see incremental shifts in development this year, the Chromebook will see peak evolution in 2024. With a suite of advanced features already built in, the Chromebook is now equipped with more powerful processors to make every function faster and more seamless. You can get a Chromebook through Acer, Asus, HP, CTL, and Lenovo.
Google has improved the visual experience in the latest Chromebook hardware by integrating high-resolution retinal displays which will elevate visual clarity and create a more immersive experience for workers and personal users alike. This allows for improved visibility while zooming in, better resolution on photos and videos, and truly defined color matching.
For designers, printmakers, and visual artists, this will be a treat. Chromebook Plus also comes with other fun integrations for creators, like Google’s Magic Eraser tool and Adobe Photoshop, for maximum inspiration and output.
We’ll see other enhancements like USB-C compatibility for effective data transfer, increased sound clarity and breadth of sound controls, and a smoother typing interface that more quickly picks up every stroke. Every enhancement made to the Chromebook was built to help you do better business, more efficiently, and with fewer frustrations.
While Google Chrome will continue to be a mainstay browser for any PC user, the full array of ChromeOS benefits will be unique to Chrome devices like the Chromebook Plus. We will see more and more companies shift away from other single user hardware options and over to devices that are ChromeOS compatible.
At Promevo, we have noticed over the last quarter that companies are migrating away from Zoom and other third-party video conferencing solutions, and toward Google Meet.
Free Gmail users are already able to use most Google Meet features without the same limitations that other services put on their calling options. For paid accounts, licensing Google Meet is much more affordable than competitors, because it’s bundled in with your Google subscription.
This also means that when you’re using Google Meet, you can seamlessly integrate your meeting with Google Calendar, Google Docs and Drive, Gmail, and your full suite of products.
Google Meet was already a strong competitor in the video conferencing space. Now, equipped with Gemini for Workspace (formerly Duet AI), Google Meet is more powerful than ever.
If your organization operates with Google’s other suite of products including ChromeOS, you’ll find Google Meet to be the most seamless option for calls, as Gemini automatically enhances video and audio quality and will eventually be able to take notes automatically and attend meetings in your place.
Rather than piece together your video calling service with different documents, whiteboarding tools, and AI tech, ChromeOS and Google Meet keep everything together for you.
Google keeps sustainability at the forefront of everything they build. They were the first major company to become carbon neutral in 2007 and the first major company to match their energy use with 100% renewable energy in 2017.
Increasingly, sustainability has become a priority for workplace leaders and individual employees. Google is a great choice for companies focused on reducing carbon emissions and improving their impact on the planet. ChromeOS offers several ways to have a positive impact on the planet and reduce waste.
ChromeOS partners with laptop manufacturers like HP, Lenovo, and Acer to encourage sustainability during the manufacturing process. This looks like building with recycled materials, using ocean plastics where possible, cutting down on nonrecyclable packaging parts, and using renewable energy in the manufacturing plant.
Further, ChromeOS Flex allows users the opportunity to modernize existing devices for a 19% reduction in energy consumption.
It’s clear that ChromeOS was designed to offer countless benefits to business users. As Google trends their products toward environmental impact, seamless integration, and reliable hardware, they further secure ChromeOS’s place as a clear winner among other operating systems and hardware.
The Promevo team will continue to observe changes and trends within the Google Chrome ecosystem to keep you informed.
