Chrome Licenses give you the power to configure settings and enforce policies on Chrome devices throughout your organization.
If you’re wondering how to purchase Chrome licenses for your organization, we can help you figure it out.
How much is a Chrome license?
The cost of a Chrome license depends on the type of license you want to purchase. Promevo offers several different Chrome licenses to help organizations meet their technological challenges, including:
- Chrome Enterprise Annual Plan for businesses of all sizes
- Chrome for Education Perpetual Plan for educational organizations using Workspace for Education
- Non-Profit Perpetual Plan for accredited non-profit organizations using Google Workspace
When you choose an Annual Plan, you’ll pay once a year for your Chrome licenses. If you choose a Perpetual Plan, your Chrome license will cover the entire lifespan of the device, so you won’t ever have to renew the license.

How do I add a license to Chrome?
Before you purchase Chrome licenses:
- Do you have an active subscription you renew with another partner? You will have to transfer your licenses to Promevo before purchasing from Promevo. Transferring is a super simple process and if you are interested in transferring, please reach out to salessupport@promevo.com or call 888-380-1061.*
- If you've never purchased Chrome licenses for your domain, but other people have, you need to be added to the domain in our system. Please email salessupport@promevo.com or call 888-380-1061 and let them know that you would like to be added to an existing domain to be able to purchase Chrome licenses.
*If you are an education or non profit client you CAN purchase from Promevo without a transfer needed.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Chrome require a license?
A license isn’t necessarily required for everyday Chrome users who want to use Google technology to power their personal activities.
However, Chrome licenses are essential for business, education, and non-profit organizations to properly manage their Chrome devices.
A Chrome license gives administrators the ability to configure settings, manage users, manage apps, and more. Whether it’s for 3 Chromebooks or 3,000, all devices in your organization can be managed remotely without the need to ever physically interact with them.
Do Chrome licenses expire?
Annual Chrome licenses expire after one year and will need to be renewed in order to continue service.
However, if you choose to purchase a Perpetual Plan, there’s no risk of your Chrome licenses expiring. Since perpetual licenses are valid for the life of your Chrome devices, you can manage your teams without interruption.
