Allegheny College Streamlines IT Operations & Data Management With gPanel by Promevo

  • User deprovisioning took too long: The team previously relied on Google Apps Manager (GAM) to automate part of their workflow, but several steps fell outside its coverage.   • Google Groups management created a heavy workload: Every academic department, committee, and student organization at Allegheny College uses its own Google group to manage communication, access, and more. According to Sue Gum, Technician 2 for Information Technology Services, these challenges pulled time away from more strategic work. “What previously required multiple scripts and manual checks now happens automatically and reliably, saving significant time and ensuring consistency across every decommissioning,” she noted.

  • File visibility became clear and immediate: Admins can quickly pinpoint lost documents, confirm ownership, and understand how data is stored and shared across the domain. This visibility supports compliance, accelerates troubleshooting, and cuts down on back-and-forth communication. As Sue explained, “gPanel’s visibility into user data has transformed how we manage storage, permissions, and compliance.”

 

The Outcome

Allegheny College now manages Google Workspace with far greater efficiency and confidence.
