The Solution

• Deleting the Domain Alias: This initial step ensured that we could lay the groundwork for creating a more efficient secondary domain.
• Re-Creating the Secondary Domain: We meticulously verified the domain via DNS to ensure smooth functionality.
• Renaming Users & Groups: This crucial step aligned every user and group with the new domain, ensuring continuity and clarity.
• Swapping Domains: The final phase involved switching the primary and secondary domains — a seamless transition thanks to our detailed preparation.

The Outcome

The migration was a resounding success. Our client retired their old product without any hitches, experiencing zero administrative errors, data loss, or service interruptions. 

This achievement not only solved their immediate challenge but also fostered a strong foundation of trust between our two organizations. As a result, we expanded our partnership to include a Google Workspace security review and a trial instance of Gemini for Google Workspace Enterprise.
